St George's Flower Guild was formed in 1990 and is affiliated to the Church of England Flower Arrangers' Association.
The Church is our venue on a weekly basis apart from the Lenten Season when the Church is not decorated with flowers, the Easter that follows shows our beautiful Church in all it's glory as the Flower Guild work tirelessly during Easter Eve.
Harvest and Christmas are equally challenging for the Flower Guild, but at the same time enjoyable.
The group is open to all, make and female, there are no membership fees but we all supply foliage for the flowers which are paid for by members of the congregation. There is a rota for the arrangers and new members will always be accompanied by an experienced arranged. The Guild is at the moment only four in number and so we are anxious to welcome new members.
Each May we have an evening of flower arranging and music for parishioners and friends, the money raised on this occasion is donated to the Church Restoration Fund usually amounting to approximately £700.
We hope to welcome new members to the Flower Guild, anyone interested should contact the Secretary, Freda Armstrong on 01257 262918.
